We have spent most of the day sitting with Patrick. Actually, he came out this morning and sat near us. He napped in the sun and stretched out near us. He still isn’t eating, but I am glad he didn’t spend the day in the dark closet. Gato and Stanley spent some time with us as well. He seemed to perk up after he received the sub-q fluids this morning. We also cleaned him up so he wasn’t wet. I am sure that made him feel a little better.
We called our new vet earlier today and she will be coming by the house tomorrow evening. I’m having a hard time keeping my emotions under control, but I’m trying not to appear upset when I’m near Patrick. He seems calm today and I do not want to disturb him. I want his final days to be as quiet and peaceful as possible.

My heart goes out to you today on reading your news-I have been where you are right now and know how frightening and overwhelmingly sad you must be feeling. Try to keep it together for Patrick-there will be time to feel the pain-and when it comes you have all of us here to help you and to listen
Be brave for him-hugs for you and your family and especially for Patrick for his journey

BP's momma here, I know exactly what you are going through as I went through this last year with my first cat, she was an american shorthair calico and it was the hardest thing I ever went through. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that he knows you love him very much, you will always love him and he will be with you forever in your heart. You are doing your absolute best. You and Patrick are in our thoughts and hearts.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this terrible sadness. You are being so strong for Patrick keeping your grief at bay and giving him the best, loving time for what time he has left. No matter how ill they are it is so incredibly hard to let go - Heartfelt hugs to you all.

This is one of the hardest things any of us pet parents have to do and we all know what you are feeling. When my kitty was approaching his 16th birthday I promised him I would love him enough to let him go when the time came. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge just 7 days before his 21st birthday with his wee head cradled in my hand. That was almost 3 years ago and we still miss him. Your dear Patrick will be missed but you will have all those wonderful memories you collected in your heart while he was with you. And remember you have all of us in Twitterland to help you when you need it.
Much love to you and your dear Patrick.

We are sending our deepest sympathies for your loss. We lost our man cat Kelly to CRF last December. All anyone can do is love them and make every day count. Take care...
Thank you all for the kind words. It helps us to know so many people care.
